Introducing Patricia Damon as a Transformational Expert
In this discussion, Transformational Expert, Patricia Damon, walks us through five phases of a transformational story.
Patricia Damon is a highly successful entrepreneur, CEO, President, and executive coach.
Trish leads others toward their own rediscovery of their wholeness.
I first saw Trish in the Revealed Films series ‘Psychedelics Revealed’, which lead to our connection while you were in Costa Rica…
And then I saw the movie River Runner which you were in plus you are credited as an executive producer of the film.
Trauma
Shutting down
At age 16, Trish finds herself pregnant. One failed attempt by her family encouraged adoption for her son. Nine months later, one successful attempt left her without her son.
Cracking Open
Eighteen years later, her son returns to her. That reunion cracked open Trish’s awareness around her childhood trauma through post-traumatic flashbacks of abuse.
Building Awareness
We need awareness to understand what is informing and influencing our behaviors.
With our negative behavior patterns, we unconsciously continue the pattern unless we have something to help us change the pattern. We need to go back into childhood memories. We need to heal and transmute ourselves into a different realm.
Some are called forth to live in our authentic truth. When we are living in co-creation with that which lights our soul on fire, we can’t help but win!
For women working in male-dominated industries, Trish offers some tips.
You may feel the need for external validation. Do not abandon yourself to the sacrifice of others! Trish encourages women to have a relationship with their inner knowing. Listen to and find that inner knowing within yourself. Let that inform your decision-making.
The benefits of dropping into peace. Learn to sit with the discomfort of being in stillness. You gain perspective from the neutral observer point of view. Can we sit in that discomfort long enough to have the wisdom come through, so we gain clarity on our best next steps?
Healing
Trish talks about the overwhelm of emotions that came through on her path to healing. She lost two family members during this time. Those events brought her to a crossroads of needing support and healing at the same time. In a tearful moment with the universe, she reached out for support. She received direction from the universe to explore psychedelics.
Trish was called to the jungle to do a psychedelic journey which undoubtedly saved her life.
Healing became her full-time work, being disciplined to doing the work and being dedicated to healing and wanting nothing more than her own emotional freedom. She needed to have the courage to go back in, be with skilled providers, and be in a safe space!
There are cases where after three sessions of MDMA a PTSD patient no longer meets the criteria for the diagnosis. The healing power of this treatment creates this change under the proper conditions.
This is a game-changer. Trish admits to twenty years of therapy and living out the same behavior patterns without the understanding of why the patterns existed.
With awareness, we can bring it into our consciousness. We then have something rich to work with and we know what we are working towards in healing.
With the 80-20 rule it is incumbent upon us to do a large part of the work for ourselves. Trish encourages a process to take the wisdom from the 20% and work to integrate and infuse it back into the family system. What do you do when you are doing the work and your counterparts around you are not? All the sudden you can get back into that environment, reach into the tool kit, tether to the principles that we can use to help us align, and put some of this wisdom into play.
The path can be very lonely. Friends and family can’t understand what you are going through and the changes that you are going through. They may not understand or see the positive aspects of your healing process. Trish talks about the necessity for a healing community that was needed during her darkest hours to work through the underlying causes of some of her behaviors. She doesn’t know what she would have done without that crucial support.
The healing process can lead to a place of freedom when you surrender. You are no longer at the helm; you are no longer driving the bus. Be in co-creation with energetic space where anything becomes possible. Trish explains how healing leads us to a place where anything is possible. She is literally talking about the point at which we unlock our inner unstoppable. So eloquently stated, people truly come alive.
Uniformities that we thought were societal and cultural norms that are meant to keep us safe and in our place with patriarchal systems. When all that gets washed away and anything becomes possible, we begin to play in a new world that is endlessly creative and fun. Therefore, people are living and feeling joyful and happy.
When you can drop the trauma and all the things that are holding us back to be in our natural essence, the world becomes so rich and fun and playful.
Healing does not have to be so painful. At times Trish admits through her healing process that she was in the bowels of despair. The pain can become an addiction. It doesn’t have to be that overwhelming heaviness that we often can get into.
Transformation – Life with Joy and Playfulness
Her family modeling raised her to think that she had to act and talk a certain way to be successful. She lived a life believing that she had to act a certain way to be loveable. If she was perfect and polished, she would be loved. Then she questioned, ‘what if none of that is true?’
All the sudden she was able to be herself. Lovability now comes in the form of self-expression.
Shame often comes from the secrets we are keeping that are keeping us sick.
We are all just learning how to walk each other home.
In the end, it was not as much about forgiving the ones that participated in the abuse, it was more about forgiving myself for forgetting who I was. We abandon ourselves in all of this. When we victimize ourselves, we blame our families or our perpetrators. When we take ownership of our experiences and fully align with what I am in control of, my destiny can become the choices I make today. No one else is responsible for me. I took control and I’m in charge of what happens to me.
I made different life choices and a different career path.
Hope for the future
When I am true to myself, when I speak my truth, and when I sit before you and allow you the same permission to speak yours. We can meet and see each other there. We then allow this universal healing. As I authentically do my work, and I show up in the fullest expression of myself and I sit before my fellow sister as I am today, and I allow you to do the same we shift the vibrational energy universally. We can then champion each other to be the best versions of ourselves. To stand in our authentic truth. To be vulnerable and compassionate for self and other. The paradigm shifts in that alone.
We do our own personal work. We then shift one person at a time in those we influence in how we show up differently. Each one of us has an internal system of knowing and heightened intuition. It is up to us whether we want to be in co-creation with that voice and whether we want to do the work to see that full expression.
Don’t abandon yourself in anything you are doing. That self-care and self-love trumps all in transforming who we are.
