Her principles in life and work started at home. She was taught the importance of building strong relationships, respecting people, and giving back.

Growing up she enjoyed reading, doing puzzles, and having a natural curiosity for learning how things work. She enjoyed learning, was very analytical, and was meticulous (no cursive assignments for her). Mese did very well in school, especially in math and science.

In middle school, she was one of two girls chosen to attend an engineering and science conference for women. She is forever grateful for the opportunity to interact with women having careers in STEM. Aspiring to join the ranks of those women, a career in STEM became her ambition.

Mese landed on mechanical engineering as my major. It was extremely challenging being a student-athlete but doing both kept her grounded and focused. After graduating, she interviewed for a few jobs, but did not feel incited. So, she decided to throw herself back into the ocean of knowledge and went to graduate school.

In graduate school when nearing completion, she needed to find work. A friend connected her with an energy engineer in Utilities and Energy Services on campus. She was hired on the spot as a student technician. Her supervisor turned out to be an awesome mentor and gave her many on-the-ground lessons on chillers, boilers, meters, and so much more. When an energy analyst position was posted, she was encouraged to apply. Mese did and was hired! Utilities and Energy Services is where she established a career foundation and fell in love with energy!

Mese has over 10 years of experience in facilities and environmental engineering. Currently, she is a Senior Engineer with Environmental Sustainability at Toyota. A few key focus areas are sustainability reporting, reporting policy and standards, and education development.

Specialties: energy and data management, regression analysis, performance tracking, target development, data analysis, sustainability and energy reporting, benchmarking.

Interests: energy, research, technology, sustainability, women’s empowerment, mentoring.

Her passions include her faith, spending time with family and friends, reading, puzzles, sports, journaling, adult coloring, music, mentoring, and travel.
